Are you ready to transform your relationship with food in a lasting and meaningful way? What if you could help others find the path to greater freedom and joy with food as well?

In Session With Marc David: Healing Digestive Problems After an Eating Disorder

Join Marc David in this episode of the The Psychology of Eating Podcast as he speaks with Craig who has been struggling with digestive challenges after recovering from an eating disorder as a teenager. Despite her training as a nutritionist and as a graduate of Marc’s eating psychology coach certification training, Craig continues to experience distressing digestive symptoms and hopes to find ways to finally heal her gut. Marc helps Craig identify strategies for strengthening her gut while also reframing her view of herself and her relationship with food.

Key Insights:
  • An eating disorder can continue to impact the digestive system even many years after recovery. Finding ways to create a nourishing relationship with food that is rooted in kindness and caring to self can help to strengthen and improve digestion.
  • You can overcome digestive problems like bloating, indigestion, irregularity, and acid reflux, and reduce dependence upon meds with core strengthening exercise.
  • Emotional causes of digestive problems such as bloating, irregularity, and acid reflux are very common. As we tend to our inner world, these sorts of physical symptoms often naturally resolve.
  • Recovering from an eating disorder often means learning to manage one’s symptoms while simultaneously retraining ourselves in how to be an eater.
  • It is necessary to start to inhabit the body again and to embrace self-love to reverse the long-term symptoms of indigestion.
Over the years, eating psychology expert, teacher, and founder of the Psychology of Eating Institute, Marc David has helped people around the world transform their relationship with food and body - and find a whole life awaiting for them on the other side. Through his coach certification training, public programs, live events, and bestselling books, Marc demonstrates how our relationship with food can be one of our greatest teachers in life - if we’re willing to listen.
